The creation or re-design of one’s home can be a long and arduous process with many unexpected twists and turns. Having an interior designer on board can dramatically streamline the process of achieving your desired results.
Clients working with Jill Weisberg Interior Design follow a clear step-by-step approach:
Project Review Phase
-
Review scope of work with client to determine their needs and desires. Understand their style and concept as well as their budget and timeline constraints.
-
Assess existing floor plans and determine any potential problems regarding circulation and use of space.
-
Catalog existing furntiure by photographing, measuring and reviewing condition to determine items for re-use.
-
Collaborate with client representatives, architects, contractors and engineers to review overall extent of project.
Design Development
- Draft floor plans (incorporating existing furnishings and items for purchase) to utilize space most efficiently.
- Choose floor covering materials taking into consideration frequency of use and traffic patterns.
- Determine wall surface materials including paint colors, wallpapers, faux finishes, stone, tile etc. and create detailed schedules (and elevations when necessary).
- Source all case goods and upholstery (including fabric and trim) based on client’s tastes and lifestyle.
- Select type and style of all lighting fixtures keeping in mind a home’s natural light and function of light source.
- Select plumbing fixtures detailing all specifications for installation.
- Create hardware schedule detailing all door & cabinet hardware.
- Detail window treatment styles and select fabrics and trims for customization.
- Prepare elevations and details for custom cabinetry.
Implementation
- Track and expedite all purchases ensuring all specifications are carried out and orders received in a timely manner.
- Liaison with audio visual (A/V) specialists, carpenters, painters, and various other trades to ensure workmanship.
- Monitor contractor’s progress, in accordance with the projected time frame, budget and expected quality of work.
